What a year! In 2023, Polar Embassy grew from a side hustle into a publishing house for games by queer and trans* people, printed Cradle to Cradle certified in Austria.
We wanted to share our highlights as we wrap up the year. In 2023...
- We tripled our portfolio of card decks, adding an inclusive spin on “Quartett” for children and playing cards for adults that celebrate queer and trans people.
- We stocked 76 shops all around Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands! Wonderful local shops now carry our card decks in Berlin, Bielefeld, Braunschweig, Erfurt, Freiburg, Göttingen, Hamburg, Hannover, Köln, Leipzig, München, Osnabrück, Perchtoldsdorf, Stuttgart, Utrecht, and Vienna.
- We sold at 6 offline markets in Berlin: Qweer Summer Market, PopUp, That Gay Creation’s Fall, Qweer Xmas, Zero Waste Berlin’s XMas Market, and That Gay Creation’s Winter Wunderland. It was so much fun to get to meet you!
- We gave away our decks in Instagram collaborations with five of our favorite local Berlin brands: Diversity Spielzeug, Rugburn, BWieBerlin, Amorelie, WhoSaid. Our friend Romina also gave away a deck to her community.
- We donated €200 to The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Schwulenberatung Berlin, and three decks to rainbow family centers in Berlin.
