Club of Queens FAQs

How many cards?

54-card playing cards with cute queer characters:

  • Four suits of 13 cards
  • Two Jokers
  • (plus a 55th card with a QR code to game instructions)

What's special about this deck?

Each suit is dressed according to a queer subcultures: Diamonds in drag, Spades in Leather, Clubs in Clubwear, and Hearts in.. nothing at all, they’re naked! A new character joins the party on each card, for a total of 54 lovable lil' queer characters across the deck.

What games can we play with it?

Perfect for queer Poker nights, Rummy raves, Crazy Eight kikis, Blackjack balls and Texas Hold Me’s 😉 Here are more of our favorite games you can play with the deck.

What order are the cards in?

In our deck, Queens trump Kings. But you can play however you like :)

How are playing cards made?

We are so glad you asked. After Rory designed all 54 cards, we printed the cards in Melk, Austria. Come behind the scenes with us here to see how our high quality playing cards are made.

Who invented playing cards? And when?

We read a book on this, so you don't have to. The TLDR: most likely, people in what is now India in 700/800 AD created playing cards as a more transportable version of chess.

Cute idea

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea and the general aesthetic of the cards. The material and print seems durable and the QR code providing a number of card games these could be used for is a nice touch.
The issue I have is with the hues used for the number cards, which for me feel too dull but I do understand that's a matter or personal preference but it has lead to confusion / mismatching in some days in the late afternoons and evening and make the cards less fun than they could be - as the face cards show.
All in all, this are very nice cards to play with but lack a bit sparkle for me, as I prefer starker contrast and a more vivid colour sheme.

Hey Lars, so much for your thoughtful feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed Club of Queens, and really appreciate your point on increasing the saturation for a poppier contrast. We keep a running list of how to improve the design for future print runs, so we'll keep your input in mind.

Cool AND hot, at the same time!!

I AM a professional Psychic Reader, and I use cards; a few years ago, I was guided and led to begin using playing cards for Divination, and because I happen to be a Gay man, who has been a part of Pride celebrations, I knew I wanted some LGBTQIA2s+ representation in my decks, as well. I love the uniqueness of the colors, as well as the diversity represented on the cards. Not at all coincidentally, I received these decks on the date of a Full Moon in Aquarius, and while I was offering Readings at a Pride Event. I was already at said Pride Event, otherwise, I would have had them available for clients. Nevertheless, I was able to spend the following day with these cards, and getting to know them was so very enjoyable. I cannot wait to use them for Readings!!

I don't even really play cards and I still want to buy more of these

This deck is incredible - there's a unique, equally fun, piece of art on each card. Can you sell posters of these?? I'd love to buy large prints for my home!

Hey Lizzy, actually yes, Rory sells the original prints! Check out his website - or the bookshop Ivallan's here in Berlin, I know they carry them too. Thanks again for your order, and the review. ✨
