🌱 Materials

Our card decks are printed Cradle to Cradle certified Silver in Melk, Austria.

This means: only renewable energy was used in production, and the materials (FSC-certified paper and non-toxic inks) are safe and fully recyclable.

We aim for a net positive impact from our product's production, transport, and consumption. 

Producing each deck emits about 0,18kg CO2e, which our supplier offsets by 110%. We share more about this below.

Maike Klingler and Luisa Schrott are UI/UX designers from Berlin. In the face of climate crisis, they use design to envision sustainable futures in which everyone can take responsibility for the planet.

They developed Sinner or Saviour during their studies to create an entertaining gaming experience for friends to discuss, reflect, and learn together.

What is Sinner or Saviour about?

It’s a trick-taking strategy game focused on real-life CO₂ emissions. Players compare the climate impact of everyday actions, make predictions, and manage a shared climate budget. Full game play instructions, including variations, are here.

How many people can play?

The game is designed for 3–6 players, ages 14 and up. A typical session lasts about 45 minutes.

What’s included in the box?

You’ll get 52 action cards, 4 Sinner cards, 4 Saviour cards, 6 reusable scorecards, and a guidebook. Scorecards can be reused with dry-erase markers, included.
