About the Artists

Katja Anton Cronauer

Katja Anton Cronauer

Katja Anton Cronauer was raised in villages and a small town in southwest Germany by two artists. He was allowed to rollick about in pants, play in the mud, and, longer than other kids assigned female at birth, was permitted swimming trunks without a bikini top. He studied Computer Science and then went to Canada, where he studied activism and the internet for his Ph.D.

Today he lives in Berlin, is an artist, and runs trans*fabel, a web shop with art and books on the topic Beyond the Binary Gender System. In his art, he reconstructs oil and acrylic paintings into digitally drawn animals that defy binary expectations.

Rory Midhani

Painter & illustrator Rory Midhani makes artwork about queer and trans people living their lives and loving it. He creates mixed-media pieces, paintings, and drawings all which playfully celebrate the lives of the queer community. 

His artworks have been featured in publications and exhibitions across Europe and North America, and he has worked as an illustrator for an international client base. Past clients include Buzzfeed, Medium, Folx Health, Transgender Europe, Flow Magazine, Curve, Siegessäule, Planned Parenthood and Autostraddle.

When will my Polar Embassy jigsaw puzzles arrive?

We need 4–5 business days to prepare your order. Once your  jigsaw puzzles are ready, we’ll email you a tracking link so you can follow it on its way. More about our shipping info here.

My order arrived, but my puzzles are missing?

Please hold tight - puzzles are shipped separately from other items in your order. If you ordered other items, you’ll get a second tracking link as soon as your jigsaw puzzles are on their way.

How many pieces do Polar Embassy jigsaw puzzle have?

Our jigsaw puzzles have 1.000 pieces, making them perfect challenges for a weekend project or a relaxing few evenings at home.

What can I do with a finished 1000-piece puzzle?

  • Creative destruction: Take it apart and share it — gift it to a friend, donate to a local community center, or sell it.
  • Hang it on the wall: Frame your completed Berlin jigsaw puzzle as a unique piece of art.
  • Recycle it: Only as last resort, please! The box and puzzle contain no plastic and are fully recyclable. You can reuse the cotton bag or check with local recycling guidelines.

Where and how are the puzzles made?

Our 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles are made in Germany. Every puzzle is produced without plastic, and we offset 100% of the CO₂e emissions via ClimatePartner.
