Really beautifully designed cards, I love them a lot and playing with my queer friends is always a fun experience! I have one complaint though: the suits aren’t too distinguishable by their colours, making it harder to make out cards, when the game has a lot of them open and there is only little lighting. I very much like it though, that each suit follows a different theme that is unique and cards may be differentiated that way. A neat detail! But still wanted to point out the colours.
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea and the general aesthetic of the cards. The material and print seems durable and the QR code providing a number of card games these could be used for is a nice touch.
The issue I have is with the hues used for the number cards, which for me feel too dull but I do understand that's a matter or personal preference but it has lead to confusion / mismatching in some days in the late afternoons and evening and make the cards less fun than they could be - as the face cards show.
All in all, this are very nice cards to play with but lack a bit sparkle for me, as I prefer starker contrast and a more vivid colour sheme.
Hey Lars, so much for your thoughtful feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed Club of Queens, and really appreciate your point on increasing the saturation for a poppier contrast. We keep a running list of how to improve the design for future print runs, so we'll keep your input in mind.
I AM a professional Psychic Reader, and I use cards; a few years ago, I was guided and led to begin using playing cards for Divination, and because I happen to be a Gay man, who has been a part of Pride celebrations, I knew I wanted some LGBTQIA2s+ representation in my decks, as well. I love the uniqueness of the colors, as well as the diversity represented on the cards. Not at all coincidentally, I received these decks on the date of a Full Moon in Aquarius, and while I was offering Readings at a Pride Event. I was already at said Pride Event, otherwise, I would have had them available for clients. Nevertheless, I was able to spend the following day with these cards, and getting to know them was so very enjoyable. I cannot wait to use them for Readings!!
Still love it ;)
Danke Sabine! ✨
Amazing quality and beautiful design. Each card is a piece of art! So in love with this card game! Making games more inclusive is so important and I love that Polar Embassy is doing just that😍
Hey Roxane, thank you so much for the kind words, we really appreciate it! Thanks for supporting our mission to make games more cheeky and inclusive! ✨☃️
This deck is incredible - there's a unique, equally fun, piece of art on each card. Can you sell posters of these?? I'd love to buy large prints for my home!
Hey Lizzy, actually yes, Rory sells the original prints! Check out his website - or the bookshop Ivallan's here in Berlin, I know they carry them too. Thanks again for your order, and the review. ✨
Mein Lieblingskartendeck! Wunderschön illustriert mit Zeichnungen vielfältiger queer- und trans-affirmativer Figuren.
Vielen Dank A.! Wir freuen uns, dass du Rorys Spielkarten auch liebst.
Instead of the traditional deck of cards ,this one shows all kinds of gender, body types and queer persons. A great gift for everybody who is interested in a diverse and inclusive society.
Thank you, Isabella! We're so glad they resonate with you. Have fun!
Every card is a separate piece of art!! Environmentally sustainable, queer and fun :) Highly recommend
Rory Midhani’s card drawings on the Club of Queens deck of playing cards are smart, sexy and sassy, incorporating a stylish collection of “clubbers, drag, nude and leather” queer cuties on every card. The card stock is durable and the size of the cards makes them easy to hold and deal. Highly recommended!
This is by far my most favorite set of playing cards. The illustrations are super cute and the print and material are very high quality. I got two for myself as a Canaster Set and ordered a bunch more as presents for my queer friends. <3
