This week, we were recognised as Kultur- und KreativPilot*innen for our work supporting queer artists and zero-waste design in Germany. At Alte Münze on Monday, Ministers Claudia Roth and Robert Habeck gave opening remarks, and Undersecretary Michael Kellner presented the awards.
We were awarded next to 31 other incredible teams from all over Germany, including Kynd Hair, Proservation, Xia Pleasure Objects, Sadaoutchi Design, Queermed Deutschland, Qzeng Productions, and many more. Here is the brochure as a PDF with the complete list of winners.
Minister Habeck spoke about how we power Germany's economy with our innovative ideas and our determination. He spotlighted our cohort and our visions for a better, sustainable, and more equal Germany, Europe, and world.
Minister Roth spoke about our role in cultural entrepreneurship, citing Edison as a role model. She also spoke powerfully about the anniversary of the murders of Gökhan Gültekin, Sedat Gürbüz, Said Nesar Hashemi, Mercedes Kierpacz, Hamza Kurtović, Vili Viorel Păun, Fatih Saraçoğlu, Ferhat Unvar and Kaloyan Velkov in Hanau on 19 February 2020.
The program includes three workshops to support the community of 32 teams with their entrepreneurial endeavours, as well as a year of mentorship from two mentors chosen for your team. As a small and scrappy publishing house, our mentors and peers in the program have already provided invaluable insight and advice for us as we grow.
